I chose "Pacific" as my time zone when installing Kubuntu 5.10, but as soon  
as KDE loaded for the first time, I saw that it was set to UTC.  So far,  
all of my attempts to change the time zone back to Pacific (by selecting  
"America/Los_Angeles" from the Date & Time pane of System Settings) have  
failed.  The time zone always reverts to UTC after closing the System  
Settings interface.
