Ubuntu | kde-systemsettings
Summary: networking section looses input data for 'gateway'
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kde-systemsettings
AssignedTo: jriddell at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: nigel at rmk.co.il
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I wanted to change the static ip address on one of our networked computers.
I managed to overcome bug 8681(?) by doing 'kdesu systemsettings' and choosing
the network section.
I changed the ip address but couldn't get the 'gateway' (192.168.0.1) setting to
register - even though I did click on the 'Apply' button at the bottom and it
gave a small narrow window informing me that the network settings were being
restarted.
Eventually I had to manually edit /etc/network/interfaces and add the 'gateway'
line.
