I have tried installing Kubuntu Breezy preview (daily build 20050902).   
 
As I had some problems with Xserver, I have switched to text console and tried switching to runlevel 3 (using 
telinit 3) to stop Xserver and kdm, but kdm was still running (runlevel was reached).
