Summary: Wish: Window management with "Fitt's Corners" by default
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kubuntu-default-settings
AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: chris at deadhand.com
QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Current Kubuntu default allows to move a maximized window. But if you do this you will
be moving a window that is to big for the screen except for the one position it is at
the moment (beeing maximized), so normally you wouldn't want to move it.
If this feature is disabled we gain a better one:
Then there will be no window border on maximized windows and therefor the close button
(top right), menu button (top left) and all of the window decoration (top center) will
be right at the corner of the screen and a lot easier to hit with the mouse (part of
"Fitt's Law"). Therefor you can quickly close a windows and just as quickly restore it
to it's previous size (turn off maximize).
I think this default should be changed accordingly:
Settings -> Desktop -> Window Behavior -> Moving:
"Allow moving and resizing of maximized windows": off
