It is not improved functionality or wishlist. If you do a apt-cache show xserver-xorg-driver-i810 it explicitly states that i945 is supported. But it doesnt work, ergo its a bug. Please return the bug to the former state -- dapper: intel 945 runs 640x480 https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36306
