Just to add to this one:  the Right-click / Save option for the 'Default Calendar' option does NOT appear to work, at least not with my setup.  The std.ics file on disk (~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics) is not touched when one selects Save in that manner, after making changes to the calendar info, e.g. adding a To-Do item or an Event.

So it remains that the only workaround to actually get it to save is to use the "Auto-Save every N minutes" facility.
