[Bug 39041] kcontrol does not update display information

Description:
Installed Kubuntu Dapper Flight 6.

The installer got xorg to use a vesa driver, instead of the proper i801
module.

I ran

% dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

and got Xorg to load the proper module, but kcontrol -> Hardware ->
Display -> Hardware, still says I'm using "vesa" as driver and running
at the wrong settings.

/var/log/Xorg.log.0.log shows clearly that that is not the case anymore.
