Simon,

A little perspective may be in place here (not trying to justify the
lack of response): 10 months ago Kubuntu was a quite young and heavily
understaffed project. Only recently have there been enough volunteers
with enough time to triage all bugs. I'm sorry to hear it stopped you
from using KDE/Ubuntu.
