Using /dev/scd0 is fine, since that's the SCSI CD-ROM device.
And the permissions are appropriate for /dev/scd0.  Why k3b 
is picking /dev/sg0 is beyond me.

But it looks more like the buffer underrun is a k3b bug to me.
I'm going to move it to that package.
