fwiw, as someone noted in the forum thread if you add a few
subdirectories at a time and rescan the collection you can eventually
get it all.  But when doing one massive directory across a samba share
it chokes with that taglib error.

I can replicate this problem in ppc64, and the samba share is 32gig.
