Right, the .pot files are generated on build time. I checked the
Makefiles that generate those files.

I used something like:

grep -r GETTEXT . |grep pot|less

About ept. That's the source package name in Dapper, and we still
support Dapper, so it makes sense that we have still a reference to ept
here (this bug tracker is not using a concrete distrorelease, but global
packages across different releases like Dapper and Edgy).

We don't have translations in Edgy for ept, but we do in Dapper:
