This seems to be more than a KDE-related problem. The problem seems to
be that the dpi setting of the server is no more taken into account
after a graphical login. That is, running KDM or GDM with different dpi
settings, what I notice is that the fonts of the login managers have a
correct size, and once logged in, they always have the same size no
matter the dpi setting. Tested with all the GDM/KDM/KDE/Gnome
configurations. xdpyinfo still reports the correct dpi setting that were
given to the server.

startx doesn't behave better - although xdpyinfo reports the correct dpi
setting, the fonts size are always the same.

However, starting X manually (X -dpi xx & DISPLAY=:0 xterm) and running
startkde in the xterm gives me right fonts sizes.
