Your system should be working well enough for you to press Alt-F2, log in, and
copy that file somewhere else using command-line tools. Failing that, could you
switch to Alt-F4 and tell me the last ten or so lines on the screen? Or has the
system crashed beyond the ability to switch virtual terminals like that?
