Found out that the proper option is 'acpi=off', passed it, then passed both, and
in all cases the system still freezes at the same point.  I then got the "Breezy
Badger" Install CD, tried all 4 conditions (none, 'noacpi', 'acpi=off',
'acpi=off noacpi') and got the same results.
