[Bug 48984] On starting the splash screen goes away

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

After some of the initialisation steps the splash screen of kubuntu goes away, and I see the boot messages on the screen, before the x server starts.
This doesn´t looks very nice imho, the splash screen should be visible during the entire boot process until x starts.
