[Bug 33627] Desktop file naming

Files that start with "." are hidden files and are probably not shown because of that. I have tried this on Kubuntu Dapper Flight 4 (KDE 3.5.1) and files are properly created, just not shown on the desktop. 
You can check if they were created, by opening Konsole and performing the following command:

  ls -la

Please also report which version of (K)Ubuntu and KDE are you using.
