[Bug 34477] Broken interface rendering in adept while scim is active

Description:
In current Kubuntu Dapper, if scim is loaded, the adept package manager
requires several orders of magnitude more time to render interface
elements.

The consequence of this bug is that adept is unusable in locales that
require scim input method support (e.g. Chinese)
