I've had the same problem.  It's not that it doesn't start.  If you try
to start it via the K menu, nothing happens.  Then if you go to konsole
and run something like 'ps aux| grep adept' you can see it in running
but it doesn't create an X window.

I've found that if I just run 'sudo adept' from the konsole it works.
However if I run 'kdesu adept' from the konsole, the command just hangs
and adept never runs.

This _may_ be a bug in kdesu.  But it seems to deal with how kdesu and
adept interact.

This is running an up-to  dapper as of March 17th.  Adept is
1.90ubuntu1.
