It is known that Kubuntu's support for media buttons on laptops is less
extensive than Ubuntu's.  The above feature specifications aim to change
this situation.

Does this problem still occur in Edgy or updated Dapper?  If it doesn't,
let us know here and please see the first link for information on
changing it.
