I am getting the same message and have similar problems.

I didn't have those problems in the beginning, but they started a week ago. 
Prior to this problem I have worked on my firewall, installed clamav and antivir.  I am mentioning it because I don't know what other information to provide and maybe other 'victims' did similar things.

Besides the message 'The process for the system protocol died
unexpectedly.', most notably Konqueror starts extremely slow (>3
minutes) and I have problem with launching the System Panel.

Any help is appreciated!

If somebody knows what information would be helpful I will provide it.
