[Bug 59560] Kmid program - NO sound comes out

Public bug reported:

Is the Kmid program supposed to be able to play midi sound files on
either a Dapper Drake or Edgy Eft (Gnome) installation ?

I installed Kmid thru add/remove programs.

I have tried it on both of these O/Ss and on several different machines.

The functioning of the Kmid interface would lead you to believe that it
is working O.K. but there is NO sound produced.  The progress bar goes
across the screen as if the program is functioning and in Edgy it even
does a tracking of the text of the MIDI lyrics but again NO sound.

Yes, I do have the speaker ON, because I get sound fine from music CDs,
wav files, and Ubuntu system sounds.
