Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

After the XServer session crashes, it's impossible to login into KDE
(GNOME not tested, although most probably is affected too). Neither
rebooting, reinstalling the xserver-xorg package nor dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg help. The system needs to be reinstalled in order to get
X's to work.

displayconfig-restore gives this error:
traceback(most recent call last): file "/usr/bin/displayconfig-restore", line 20, in? import ixf86misc, Input Error: no module named ifx86misc

(there *might* be some some typo's in the above output, it's been hand-
typed, not copied-pasted)

Looks like there's a missing Python module that's causing the problem.

** Affects: kde-guidance (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
