Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kicker
After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 from 3.5.4, the menu scheme for "Name
(Description)" (you can choose that option from K Menu -> System
Settings -> Panel -> Panels -> Menus -> Menu item format) is not working
as expected, it's printing "Name Description". It should print, for
example, "KMix (Sound Mixer)", and it prints "KMix Sound Mixer".
If this is a feature, it's not correct for some languages. In English,
things like "KMix Sound Mixer" make sense, but in Catalan or Spanish,
and I'm sure other languages too, "KMix Mesclador de so" doesn't make
any sense. In order to be gramatically correct, it should be "Mesclador
de so KMix". To make it understandable, it would be like printing "Sound
Mixer KMix" in English.
Also, I just took a look at Edgy Live CD and Adept is shown (in English)
as "Adept Manage Packages".
Maybe this should be a feature, but it shouldn't be enabled by default
(or at least not enabled by default on languages other than English),
and an option for "Name (Description)" should be there.
** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
