This gives the same easy installation than firefox doesn and as it installs in in the user profile, doesn't conflicts with the multiverse package.
I've just implemented the patch in kdelibs and the configuration in kubuntu-default-settings.
Looks like working very nicelly, but for x86 only of course.
No issues with other CPUs, since konqueror then displays the normal message instead of that popup.
Will probably be uploaded after beta is released.
