Hi Andrew, thanks for the response.

While I am using Beryl, I tested this with all 3 Window Managers (Beryl,
Compiz, Metacity, switched with beryl-manager; also tested with both
Emerald and GTK Decorators), and the behaviour was exactly the same. No
speed/time difference whatsoever. Since I am also experiencig bug 77164,
I can assure you that this is not the same thing, the symptoms are
totally different, at least for me.

This bug: about 60 sec intense CPU usage while amarok is not usable / not responding immediately after starting the application, no matter if minimized or maximized.
bug 77164: constant high CPU usage depending on window size etc. That one disappears when I turn Beryl/Compiz off.
