) suggests that a possible cause of this problem is broken dependencies
within libxine-extracodecs.

If anyone is still experiencing this bug, please provide the output of
`apt-cache policy libxine-extracodecs libxine1-ffmpeg` and whether or
not there are any outstanding dependencies when executing `sudo apt-get
update && sudo apt-get upgrade`.
