I meet the same problem with feisty. with :

kmplayer              0.9.4-0ubuntu2
kmplayer-base         0.9.4-0ubuntu2
kmplayer-konq-plugins 0.9.4-0ubuntu2
mozilla-mplayer       3.31+main-1ubuntu1
mplayer               1.0~rc1-0ubuntu9

The mplayer plugin works in firefox, but not in konqueror (though I
scanned for new plugins in konqueror configuration dialog)
