[Bug 129628] package libarts1-akode is missing final newline

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libarts1-akode

trying to apply the available updates on my 7.10 beta install I'm
getting:

(Reading database ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libarts1-akode_4%3a3.5.7-2ubuntu1_i386.deb (--unpack):
 files list file for package `libarts1-akode' is missing final newline

So I've tried to re-install the affected package and get the same error.
It is a show stopper, since the package is already installed and I'm
getting this while trying to upgrade/install the other packages that
want to be installed.  Using the adept updater just fails with other
issues which is why I'm trying things at the command line for now.
