[Bug 84376] Long delay before KDM starts

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdm

In the latest version of Kubuntu Feisty (Herd 3), there is an
approximate 2 minute delay between the finishing of the start up
procedure, and X starting. During this time, there appears to be no or
minimal hard drive activity. The display is of tty8, with the last line
of text reporting that fsck has found hda1 to be clean.
