I had the same problem with polish language.
Once upon a time I had updated my Dapper, and it screwed my adept_notifier translation, then I found this:

http://i18n.kde.org/stats/gui/trunk/pl/playground-sysadmin/index.php

After downloading adept_notifier.po use:
msgfmt adept_notifier.po -o adept_notifier.mo
and put .mo file into /usr/share/locale-langpack/pl (replace pl with your language code).
Restart adept_notifier.

But after dist-upgrade to edgy this problem seemed to reapper, so I had
to replay this whole operation again. Download, make .mo file, put it in
the right place.
