Hi.
I'm encountering this problem too. Lately it has gone worse. Nowadays maybe even 95% of the cases "monitor looses input signal and goes to sleep, computer completely stuck, have to
switch off manually by pressing power key for 7 seconds". I'm suspecting this is to blame for that I even had to already re-install Feisty once (FS went completely mad).

System information:
Kubuntu Feisty 7.04 + Radeon 9200SE
