I am still getting this problem. It stops for a while after a reboot,
but this is hardly a solution.

It is making ubuntu unusable for me and, from the sound of it, for
others.

I have now completely re-installed ubuntu 7.04, which caused endless
problems in itself with corruption in the apt list files, and now I
finally get the system working only to find exactly the problem recurs.

I see that the status of the bug is that more information is needed.
What is required exactly?
