It happens with any number of devices on the desktop. CD-Rom & Mass
storage, if you have more than 1 and you safely remove one, then the
option disappears on the others, including eject and safely remove from
CD-Rom options.

I have to go into media:/ to remove devices / eject and unmount CD's.
