If you are still experiencing this problem, could you try running each of:
kcmshell fonts
kcmshell colors
kcmshell icons
kcmshell style
kcmshell kthememanager
kcmshell kwindecoration
kcmshell kcmgtk-xdg

from the command line and see if any of them crash?
