I have the same problem. I'm not able to save the power saving setting.
I'd like to use like 15 minutes instead of the default 5 hours, but
every time I reboot the setting is lost. And furthermore, I've tryed
setting it in administrator mode, logging in with my sudo password and
then set it, in those cases xorg.conf is somehow fucked up and my
resolution goes to 640x480 and I have to restore a backup of xorg.conf
to get it right. It's _REALLY_ annoying bug.
