[Bug 93589] Entire system crashes when using multisessions

Public bug reported:

Running Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 (all updates installed).

Quite often when I use the KDE function to "Lock current & Start New
Session," once the computer monitor goes into power save mode, it is
impossible to bring the system back up.  Moving the mouse causes the
monitor to start up, but the screen remains black.

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace has no effect.  Neither does trying to open
a different session through Ctrl-Alt-F1, etc.

The only way to get back into the system is to do a hard reset.
