Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: adept
I had performed an upgrade. CUPS was upgraded, which resulted in my
printer no longer working. I had had this problem before, and doing a
complete rebuild, took care of the problem. This time instead of doing
a complete rebuild, I tried to remove cups, hoping to re-install it.
What ended up happending was that when cups was removed, it also removed
KDE, EVOLUTION, and many other unrelated packages, resulting in a non-
working system. Luckily I had my system backed up, and was able to
restore it.
