Would be good to know if all affected machines have PowerPC processors. I booted an ibook g3 into kubuntu-livecd once and don't recall any problems with system clock. Can't check it now, as I sold that machine. -- Calendar is set for 1971-11-11 and can't be reset https://launchpad.net/bugs/71413
