Is this dependent on the hardware (USB controller, memory stick), do you
want the details? Do your memory sticks get un-lighted in linux?

Want me to go and buy a new memory stick to test with? ;-) (Seriously,
wouldn't help, since I'd probably get the same make & model as I already
have...)
