[Bug 112696] Feisty - ATI IXP150 sound - xmms/mplayer etc lockup / crash

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

HP nx9110 laptop, sound worked in Dapper and Edgy.  Just installed
Feisty and now sound will play for some short amount of time and then
the app in question will lock up and crash.  xmms and mplayer have been
tested so far.  I have tried both using ARTS output (I am in Kubuntu) as
well as disabling artsd and running the apps to ALSA and also OSS.  Same
effect all around.  Files attached per
