Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

I have the default Ubuntu 7.04 system installed.
I tried to install the kubuntu-desktop metapackage.

I have the standard default sources.list file.

When trying to mark kubuntu-desktop to be installed it fails with:
kubuntu-desktop:
Depends: kde-guidance but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: kde-guidance-powermanager but it is not going to be installed

A search shows that kde-guidance and kde-guidance-powermanger are availible, but when I try to install via apt-get they fail with:
kde-guidance:
Depends: libpythonize0 but it is not going to be installed

When I try to install libpythonize0 manually via apt-get it fails with:
libpythonize0:
Depends: python2.5-dev but it is not going to be installed

When I try to install python2.5-dev manually via apt-get it fails with:
python2.5-dev:
Depends: python2.5 (=2.5.1~rc1-0ubuntu3) but 2.5.1-0ubuntu1 is to be installed

A quick check in synaptic shows that all the python2.5 packages are at
version 2.5.1~rc1-0ubuntu3, EXCEPT FOR python2.5 and python2.5-minimal,
which are both at version 2.5.1-0ubuntu1

So therein lies the bug/problem/issue whatever it is. Any help would be
much appreciated.

** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
