kpdf from kde 3.5.7 doesn't have the poppler patch (from kubuntu) which is the reason of this bug.

You can switch to feisty and to kde 3.5.7 or download the source package
of kde-graphics 357 (and associates kde-libs) build by Jonathan Ridell
and rebuild them on Edgy.
