Public bug reported:

Mounting/Browsing drives defined using the default method (UUID) in fstab, does *not* work using a link to the device created with "Create new >Link to > Hard disk device" right click menu on the KDE desktop root window. LABELs doesn't work either. It has to be done using /dev nodes.
This can be done in "System settings -> Advanced -> Disk and filesystems", but that is only a workaround, not a solution.

** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
