The first steps are these:
try to reproduce this bug (the xorg,conf attached should work according that you have said, then you probably should reenable Randr)  and next post the xorg.log and kdm.log of the problem. If you are able to start manually kdm (from command line) reproducing the bug, this command line option may give more information in the log "-debug 7".
