[Bug 157875] KDE will not show media on the deskop that was inserted before KDE init

Public bug reported:

Kubuntu Gutsy's KDE 3.5.8 is not able to properly show media on the
desktop (CDs, thumb drivers, etc.) that were mounted before the system
was started.

An example: You put a CD into the CD drive, then boot Kubuntu. The CD
won't show on the desktop (but will be shown in media:/ ). Reinserting
the CD is a simple shortcut, but in order to bring a consistent user
experience, the link to the media should be placed on the desktop, too.
