Same probleme here, I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400 and the "MediaDirect" key worked great with Amarok in Gutsy but since Hardy it causes kded to crash.
Protox's advice didn't work for me and when crashed, even if I try to restart it I can't use the "MediaDirect" nor the volume buttons (which work before the crash).

PS : The "MediaDirect" key is named XF86AudioMedia in the command
shortcuts, if it can help.
