[Bug 280902] [NEW] unable to log into kubuntu 8.10 beta via KDM

Upgraded to Kubuntu 8.10 Beta from latest 8.04. OS boots up but when I
attempt to log-in via KDM I am returned back to the original screen
after a couple of seconds, i.e. I do not get access to my desktop.
