[Bug 311071] [NEW] kdm maintainer scripts don't cope with an empty /etc/X11/default-display-manager

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase

We've seen Hardy deployments where for whatever reason, /etc/X11
/default-display-manager is empty.

It seems the kdm package's config script doesn't cope with this very
well, which breaks further updates.

Steps to reproduce:

apt-get remove kdm
rm /etc/X11/default-display-manager
touch /etc/X11/default-display-manager
apt-get install kdm

** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
