[Bug 311929] [NEW] krunner flickers the screen on every keypress

Public bug reported:

On a fresh Kubuntu 8.10 install the screen flickers on every keyboard press or mouse roll. 
It is almost invisible, but VERY noticable on a remote X session! It makes typing through a remote X session a nightmare.

Killing krunner stops the flickering.

(This is a *different* flicker than the screen flashing every 8 seconds
caused by the Kubuntu krandr daemon, which is reported elsewhere.)
