smarter on #kubuntu-devel said that /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh gets called for hibernation in KDE3.
Yes, I think the resume.d scripts should be called on wakeup.
Do the scripts get called for hibernation? or it it the same as with suspend to ram?

How does pm-hibernate not work.. You should probably create a new bug
report for it (and link there from here)
